This free pattern for crochet flower earrings uses a traditional Irish rose crochet flower. This is a quick finish crochet project for pretty layered flowers. It uses size 10 crochet thread in the color of your choice and two French earring hooks

What materials are needed to crochet these flower earrings?
For these crochet flower earrings you’ll need size 10 crochet thread. I used Aunt Lydia’s Crochet Thread in color Cardinal Red.
You’ll also need a size 7 (1.65 mm) steel crochet hook.
For finishing you will need a tapestry needle and two French earring hooks.
If you don’t already have them, you’ll want two small sets of jewelry pliers. These are helpful for opening the loop at the bottom of the earring hook.

Finished Measurements: About 1 3/4 inches across.
Thread: Aunt Lydia’s Crochet Thread Size 10 (100% Mercerized Cotton; yarn weight category: 0/Lace): about 15 yds Cardinal Red.
Crochet Hook: Steel crochet hook size 7 (1.65 mm), or size needed to obtain gauge.
Notions: Small tapestry needle, two earring hooks, two sets of jewelry pliers.

Special Stitches
Single crochet in the back loop only (sc blo): Insert hook through only the back loop of designated st, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through both loops on hook.
Flower (make 2)
Ch 6, join to first ch with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 1, 12 sc in ring, join to first st with sl st – 12 sts.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, ch 3, *skip next st, sc in next st, ch 3, repeat from * around to last st, skip last st, join to first st with sl st – 6 ch-3 sps.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, skip first st, *sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc in next ch sp, skip next st, repeat from * around, join to first st with sl st – 42 sts.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc blo in first st, ch 4, *skip next 6 sts, sc blo in next st, ch 4, repeat from * around to last 6 sts, skip last 6 sts, join to first st with sl st – 6 ch-4 sps. If needed, move chain loops so they are behind the petals.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, skip first st, *sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, sc in next ch sp, skip next st, repeat from * around, join to first st with sl st – 54 sts. Fasten off.
Finishing
Weave in ends.
Use jewelry pliers to open ring at bottom of earring hook. Place opened loop through the middle st of one petal so that the hook faces away from RS of flower. Use pliers to close loop.
Finished!
