Crochet garlands
Crochet garlands can be a fun crochet project that is very easily taken on the go. It involves making lots of small items or motifs and then crocheting a long chain, attaching each item to the chain with a single crochet stitch in the top of it.
I’ve designed other garlands too! Try out one of these:
Gardens Galore Garland which includes flowers and other small motifs.
Holly Jolly Garland for Christmas. This one is a free download from Cascade Yarns.
Galactic Garland, a fun space-themed garland, also available as a free download from Cascade Yarns.

Difficulty Level: Easy+
Finished Measurements: Each heart is 3 inches long x 2 1/2 inches wide. The garland can include as many or as few hearts as you like, so the garland length is up to you.
Yarn: Cascade Yarns Anthem (100% Acrylic; 186 yds; 100 g; yarn weight category 4/Medium/Worsted): 1 skein each #03 Red, #09 Pink, #38 Lemon, and #08 White.
Yardage: Each heart requires about 12 yds of yarn.
Crochet Hook: H/8 (5 mm), or size needed to match gauge.
I use and recommend Furl’s Streamline Metal crochet hooks!
Notions:
Gauge is not critical for this project, but my finished hearts were about 2 1/2 x 3 inches each.

When making hearts, work tightly. Hearts are worked in the round without joining or turning at the end of rnds. Hearts are made separately. The garland is put together by making a long chain that is stitched to the hearts as you make the chain.
