What should I use to crochet this bookmark?

I used size 10 crochet thread to crochet my bookmarks. However, you can crochet this bookmark in thicker thread, or with yarn.

A couple of things to keep in mind though. The thicker the thread or yarn that you use, the more space it will take up between the pages of a book. Thinner thread or yarn will make only a small gap. I don’t suggest going any thicker than a 3/DK/Light weight yarn for this project.

Also, if you do not use size 10 crochet thread, you will need to adjust your hook size. This chart from the Craft Yarn Council gives a good idea of standard hook sizes for different weights of thread and yarn.
