Available Sizes: Baby [Toddler, Child, Tween, Adult S, Adult L]

Finished Measurements: Circumference 15 [17, 19 1/4, 20 3/4, 22, 22 3/4] inches; Width 4 1/4 inches.

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Anthem (100% Acrylic; 186 yds; 100 g; yarn weight category 4/Medium/Worsted): About 23 [25, 28, 30, 31, 32] yds each #08 White (color A) and #03 Red (color B).

Crochet Hook: I (5.5 mm), or size needed to match gauge.

Notions: 2 locking st markers of different colors, tapestry needle.

Gauge: 11 sts x 7 rnds = About 4 inches in spiraled double crochet

Foundation Single Crochet (fsc): Insert hook under two loops of chain at the base of last st, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 1 loop (base ch made), yo, pull through 2 loops.

Foundation Half Double Crochet (fhdc): Yo, insert hook under two loops of chain at the base of last st, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 1 loop (base ch made), yo, pull through 3 loops.

Foundation Double Crochet (fdc): Yo, insert hook under two loops of chain at the base of last st, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 1 loop (base ch made), [yo, pull through 2 loops] 2 times.

Ear Warmer

Rnd 1: With A, ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 fsc, 3 fhdc, 15 [18, 21, 23, 25, 26] fdc, remove loop from hook, place st marker in loop, place a slip knot of color B on hook, insert hook in ch at bottom of last fdc, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops (counts as fsc), 2 fsc, 3 fhdc, 15 [18, 21, 23, 25, 26] fdc, do not join or turn – 42 [48, 54, 58, 62, 64] sts.

Rnd 2: Continuing with B, making sure not to twist rnd 1, bring ends together, dc in first st, place st marker in this st to mark BOR, dc in remaining 20 [23, 26, 28, 30, 31] color A sts, remove loop from hook, place st marker in loop, place hook in live loop of color A from previous rnd, dc to end of rnd.

Rnd 3: Continuing with A, dc in first st, move BOR marker into this new st, dc in remaining 20 [23, 26, 28, 30, 31] color B sts, remove loop from hook, place st marker in loop, place hook in live loop of color B from previous rnd, dc to end of rnd.

Alternate repeat Rnds 2 and 3 for pattern. Work in pattern for a total of 6 rnds.

Rnd 7: Continuing with A, dc in first st, move BOR marker into this new st, dc in next 13 [16, 19, 21, 23, 24] color B sts, hdc in next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts, sl st in last color B st, fasten off A, place hook in live loop of color B from previous rnd, dc in next 14 [17, 20, 22, 24, 25] color A sts, hdc in next 3 sts, sc in next 3 sts, sl st in last st, fasten off B.

Finishing

Weave in all ends. Finished!
