Bruges Bracelet, A Beginning Bruges Lace Crochet Pattern

Hand holding a crochet hook with a blue crochet bracelet on wrist.

Bruges lace is a traditional artform from Belgium that is made by tatting. But some clever crocheter developed a crochet technique that mimics it and this simple cuff bracelet is made using that technique. It is a very simple design that uses a very small amount of yarn. It’s an excellent scrappy crochet project because of that, and so quick to make! These small crochet bracelets make excellent gifts too!

This particular Bruges lace crochet pattern is an extremely simple one. However, Bruges lace crochet patterns can be very intricate, beautiful, and complex. I have a how-to video that demonstrates how to do the turns and joins of a more advanced Bruges lace pattern. You can see the tutorial here. I also have a larger and more complex Bruges lace crochet pattern called Pensacola Poncho, which you can see below, and find here. But if you want a video just for this bracelet, I have that too! Watch it here.
