Beginning Bruges lace crochet pattern

Bruges lace is a traditional artform from Belgium that is made by tatting. But some clever crocheter developed a crochet technique that mimics it and this simple crochet bracelet pattern is a beginning bruges lace crochet pattern. It is a very simple design that uses a very small amount of yarn. It’s an excellent scrappy crochet project because of that, and so quick to make! These small crochet bracelets make excellent gifts too!

This is simple crochet bracelet pattern uses the Bruges lace crochet technique, but only the very basics of it. I made a start to finish video tutorial for this bracelet geared to teaching beginners how to read written crochet patterns.

.

However, Bruges lace crochet patterns can be very intricate, beautiful, and complex. I have a how-to video that demonstrates how to do the turns and joins of a more advanced Bruges lace pattern. I also have a few other Bruges lace crochet patterns that include these more advanced techniques.
