A wavy scarf crochet pattern

At long last I can show you the pictures of my latest published design! This is “Avery’s Wavy Scarf” from Interweave Crochet Accessories 2010! This wavy scarf crochet pattern is unique and fun to make! You start by making several rings in one color, and then the rings become part of the scarf as you begin to stitch the wavy blue section.

What yarn should I use for this scarf?

The original Avery’s Wave Scarf crochet pattern was made with Manos Del Uruguay Silk Blend with 1 skein of #3019 Dove and 3 skeins of #3064 Pewter. I’m not sure if Dove is still an available colorway, but it was a very pale grayish pink and #3025 Shale or #3052 Cameo would make a good substitute for it. You can purchase this yarn from WEBS here.

You will also need a G (4 mm) crochet hook.

What stitches will I need to know to make this scarf?

Stitch in the back loop only (BLO), tutorial here.

Double crochet two stitches together (dc2tog) – this is a decrease stitch. It is worked as follows. Yo, insert hook in first designated st, *yo, pull loop up through stitch, yo, pull through two loops on your hook*, yo, insert hook in second designated st, repeat from * to *, yo, pull through all 3 loops on hook.
