Growing stash and a Cardigan

A good friend of mine asked me a while back if I would make some cardigans for her daughters. She saw this pattern (Perfect Fall Cardi) in the Fall 2009 issue of Crochet Today and wanted to make it for her girls, but wasn’t sure she was feeling up to the task. So she asked me if I would do it for her. This is the first one, in a size 6. The second one will also be a size 6 but with added length. My lousy camera didn’t show the colors very well as usual, but the pocket edging is blue and there is a little blue in each of the stripes in the yoke as well as down one of the front edges. The other colors are a deep red and purple. I’m very pleased with how it turned out. I just need to block it and add the buttons.

Last week I got to add to my yarn stash quite a bit. Yeah! This group represents a trip to Gourmet Yarn Co. in Oklahoma City, and a brief stop at Hobby Lobby for some Patons Bamboo Silk.

This picture is what I ordered from WEBS. Basically what all of this yarn means is that I have a boatload of work to do. All of this yarn was purchased for particular projects. This is my favorite part about being a crochet designer–getting to buy lots of luxury yarn!!! My least favorite part would be that I often have to rip things out to get them right. I hate ripping out work, but it is definitely a part of the job.
Well, happy crocheting everyone! Back to work for me!
