Alera Shawl part 3

It’s time for the third and final section of the Alera Shawl, the project for the Codex Alera CAL, my free crochet along 2021! I hope those that have participated are enjoying the crochet-along! We’ve had some good discussions about the book and shawl in my Facebook group, The Studio Bunch.

V-st section

Note When working the first row of v-st 2 dc will be placed together in the same st with a st skipped between each group of 2. Each group of 2 dc counts as a v-st. In additional rows of v-st, each set of 2 dc will be worked into the space between the 2 dc of the v-st below. The dc themselves will be skipped, in other words, no stitches will be worked into their tops, except where the instructions specifically state otherwise.

Row 1 (RS) Ch 2, 2 dc in first st (v-st made), *sk next st, 2 dc in next st, repeat from * across to last 3 sts, sk 2 sts, 2 dc in last st, turn — 100 sts.

Row 2 Ch 2, 2 dc in first v-st, *sk 2 dc, 2 dc in next v-st, repeat from * across, after working 2 dc in last v-st, dc in last dc of last v-st, turn — 101 sts.

Row 3 Ch 2, 2 dc in first dc, 2 dc in next v-st, *sk 2 dc, 2 dc in next v-st, repeat from * across to last v-st, dc in last v-st, dc in last dc, turn — 102 sts.

Row 4 Ch 2, 2 dc between first 2 dc, *sk 2 dc, 2 dc in next v-st, repeat from * across, after working 2 dc in last v-st, dc in last dc of last v-st, turn — 103 sts.
