Alera Shawl Pattern, Section Two
Notes Today we begin the most textured section of the shawl. I originally planned to make cables for this section, but it was proving to be finnicky, and I didn’t want the shawl to be that complex. However, we will use post stitches. If you aren’t familiar with those, watch the how-to video below the pattern to see how they’re done.
Abbreviations Used
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
st = stitch
EFPdc = extended front post double crochet
dc2tog = double crochet two stitches together
EBPdc = extended back post double crochet
rep = repeat
Special Stitches
EFPdc Yo, insert hook around post of designated st starting on the front side of fabric, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 1 loop, (yo, pull through 2 loops) 2 times.
EBPdc Yo, insert hook around post of designated st starting on the back side of fabric, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 1 loop, (yo, pull through 2 loops) 2 times.
