Gracie Lacy Capris, a Children’s Clothes Crochet Pattern
Adorable Children’s Clothes Crochet Pattern
Gracie Lacy Capris are crochet capris for girls in sizes 2[4, 6, 8]. I actually designed this crochet pattern for girls a few years ago, and it has been available as an individual pattern since then. However, it has now been tech-edited and simplified. This children’s clothes crochet pattern is available on Ravelry and Etsy, all by itself, or as part of an e-book of crochet patterns for girls!

What yarn should you use to crochet these?
These crochet girls capris were originally made in Rowan Sienna. This was a fingering weight mercerized cotton that has a really pretty shine to it and is very soft, but it has been discontinued. You will need to choose a different yarn. I suggest using a fingering weight, 100% cotton yarn. You’ll need 918 to 1224 yds of your chosen yarn for the main color, and a small amount of the secondary color. Rowan now has a similar yarn called Summerlite 4 ply that would probably work, or you can use one of my favorites, Cascade Ultra Pima Fine.
This crochet pattern for girls is worked from the top down, so you can make them as long or as short as you want. If you want crochet shorts, or pants, that is doable! The waist is fitted by folding the top over to make a casing for elastic. My oldest, Drama Queen, has worn these capris for years now! She still wears them, but they fit her like bermuda shorts now. You can get a lot of wear out of these!
Happy crocheting!
