What materials do I need to crochet this pumpkin coaster?
I used one skein of Cascade Yarns Ultra Pima, which is 100% Pima cotton in a DK/3/light weight. I used #3771 Paprika. The coaster takes about 25 yds of this yarn, so you only need a partial skein. The stem of the pumpkin requires about 2 yds of #3741 Shamrock.
You’ll need a size F (3.75 mm) crochet hook, or potentially a different size if you aren’t able to match my gauge with a size F hook. My favorite crochet hooks, Furl’s Streamline Resin, don’t come in a size F, but their Streamline wood hooks have the same great, ergonomic shape and are available in a size F, so I recommend one of these if you are in need of an excellent size F crochet hook.
In addition to your cotton yarn and crochet hook, you’ll need a tapestry needle to weave in your ends.
