What yarn should I use for this stocking?

I used Pound of Love yarn, provide by Lion Brand Yarn. This is a worsted weight 100% Premium Acrylic. Each skein contains a whopping 1020 yds! This yarn is a great fit if you are going to make a set of stockings for your family all in the same yarn.

Aqua rectangular button with a round photo of a crochet Christmas stocking on it. Text on the button reads: Get the yarn for this project. Click here.

What else will I need to make this stocking?

You will need a size K (6.5 mm) crochet hook and a yarn needle. My favorite crochet hooks are Furls Streamline hooks, which you can find here.

What stitches and skills will I be using?

This bobble stitch crochet stocking begins with a magic circle at the toe. You can use other methods for starting the toe if you prefer, but I tend to use magic circle because it is my favorite. Find a tutorial for magic circle here, or for other circle-starting methods, click here.

You will need to single crochet and make bobble stitches. Find a single crochet tutorial here and a crochet bobble stitch tutorial here.

You’ll also be using short rows to form the heel and making a hanging loop at the top edge. I’ll share some pictures along with the pattern below to help you with those.
