Alera Shawl, Easy Crochet Shawl Pattern

Hi CAL friends! I’m getting so excited to start the Codex Alera CAL in just over a week! I’ll have tutorial videos to get with each section of this easy crochet shawl pattern. This post will give you the header info for the pattern, gauge, hook size, yarn requirements, finished measurements, all that stuff, along with a few reminders.

Get ALL the information about the CAL here in the main post about it.

Reminders

The CAL starts on Saturday May 1st!

Get your yarn right away so that you will be ready! You can order from Ancient Arts Yarn here, or find a substitute that is a sport weight with about 19 wpi.

You might go ahead and work a gauge swatch to be sure your gauge matches mine. It’s a shawl, so it doesn’t have to be perfect, but at least close.

Get the book or audio book! Please use my Amazon affiliate link to order it. You won’t pay anything extra, but I will earn a small commission. If you are into supporting small businesses, no worries, your Amazon purchase will support mine. If you’d prefer, you can also check it out from your local library. You can start reading whenever you like, but remember that discussion in the group will be limited to a chapter of the day.

Join my Facebook group, The Studio Bunch! That’s where all the conversation will take place.

Start sharing on social media! When you use the hashtags #CodexAleraCAL and #BananaMoonStudio in public posts on social media, you’ll be entered into the drawings for some amazing prizes! There will be three yarn prizes and a shawl cuff, along with patterns, and Banana Moon Studio merch.

That’s all for now!
