Yarn Review of Ancient Arts Yarns Revival, Made of Recycled Fibers

Over the past few months I have had the pleasure of working with Ancient Arts Yarns Revival in both the fingering and worsted weights.

This yarn is made completely of recycled fibers that are reclaimed in the milling process to avoid waste. It feels great to be working with materials that are helping our environment! The yarn is made of 49% wool, 34% mohair, 11% nylon, 4% acrylic, 2% silk. You can have this yarn dyed in so many exciting colorways! Ancient Arts Fibre Crafts dyes most of their bases in around 250 different colorways!

This yarn is moderately soft and a bit shiny. I have done a lot of great things with it! I used the fingering weight in the color Mint Chocolate Chip to design my first pair of socks. I love how these turned out! The texture is so satisfying. Get the free Catoosa Socks pattern here! You’ll also find helpful tutorials linked throughout the pattern to help you sock newbies.

Next I used the Revival worsted weight to design a crochet cowl in the very popular Corner to Corner, or C2C pattern stitch. This design uses the two colors A Midnight Clear and Embers and Ashes. You can get the Chandler Cowl free crochet pattern here.

I made a brief video to show you what it’s like to work with the yarn. You can see that below or on my YouTube channel.
