Haileyville Cowl is a companion pattern to my Haileyville Hat pattern. Both of these patterns are FREE! Click here to find and favorite this pattern on Ravelry!
These lovely accessories are made in Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Effects #16 Grapes. You’ll need 2 skeins of this yarn to make both the hat and cowl. The hat requires about 60g of yarn; the cowl needs about 120g. If you are only making the cowl, you could make your it a little smaller and use just one skein, but I think you’ll find that the measurements are just about perfect as they are. If, however, you decide to make it smaller around, decrease your starting chain by 8, and then you can follow the directions “as is” until you are happy with the size of it.
The pattern stitch used here is half-double crochet with some strategically-placed chain spaces. I’ve made a two-part video tutorial for the hat and cowl patterns! If you are just making the cowl, you’ll find some helpful info in the second video.
